Being able to swim in a naturally warmed thermal pool is the highlight of this excursion and an experience you will never forget!
The islands of Hawaii is formed by constant volcanic activity and with this tour you will see the the marvel that created the paradise we know today. Starting in Hilo our tour driver will explain some historic facts and anecdotes to bring familiarity town this quaint seaside town. A stop at Richardson's beach will show a volcanic black sand beach and if serendipity allows a glimpse at local Green Sea Turtles or a Hawaiian Monk Seal. Next our tour guide will take you south to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park to take in the marvel of Halemaumau crater and see firsthand volcanic activity that slowly formed the Hawaiian islands. On the lookout to Halemaumau crater lies the Thomas A. Jaggar museum, named after acclaimed vulcanologist, where you have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with topical geology and local legend focusing on the Hawaiian goddess of the volcano, Pele. Then after seeing the crater our next stops are to see the the remnants of past flows like the captivating Thurston Lava tube and Lava Tree monuments.
The perfect ending to a day filled with sights and wonders is a nice soak and swim in the Kapoho thermal pond. Heated by the volcano to a relaxing ~90 degrees this soft bottomed pond offers a calming atmosphere with scenic view of the ocean.

The tour stops at Queen Liliuokalani Gardens, Hawaii Volcanoes National park, Jaggar museum, Halemaumau Crater, 1982 Lava flow, Thurston lava tube, Lavatree state park, and Kapoho thermal pool. We try to keep to our scheduled stops but sometimes outside circumstances may affect the tour, e.g. volcanic activity, inclement weather.
